SEVENTEEN are arguably one of the most talented groups working right now, but their latest song"HIT" was more of a "Miss".
*Right off
the bat, the intro is not good, and it keeps on playing in the background
throughout Jeonghan’s part which was
annoying.
*Then comes
the lyrics, and dear Jesus are they something:
“ A
buffalo with steel horns hit only ahead”
“The world
is our pride of pride”
"Freaking Bounce it, move"
What
happened to lyrics like “what do I do? Without you my heart has no home”????
And no, I’m
not saying lyrics should always be deep and touching; they can be fun and
simple and still be enjoyable, and many of SEVENTEEN’s songs attest to that.
*Moving on
to the annoying overused autotune, with Dino, Mingyu and at the end in that “breathe”
part . Definitely not a great decision.
*The vocalists who are some of the best in
Kpop had little to nothing to do, the rappers had cheesy lines, it was bad.
What makes
this song seem even worse is that it came after a really strong EP. "You Made My Dawn" gave
us some great tunes. From Good to Me to
Getting Closer, the entire Mini album was really good, both lyrically and
musically , and everyone had great performances to showcase,so normally I expecting something as good if not a better follow
up, and unfortunately it wasn't delivered.
HIT Card:
*Score: 4/10
*Label: Bad
*Star of The Song: The beat
*Final Thoughts: Not the best SEVENTEEN has to offer, not even close. The wordless chorus is what's good about song due to its beat, that being said, the latter itself isn't that great. It's made for live shows, concerts and tours. If you want to discover SEVENTEEN's music, this shouldn't be the one to start with.

As I mentioned, this is more of a performance song, while performing everyone seems like a
main dancer, and it requires so much energy and it definitely creates such a
fantastic atmosphere, but as a day to day song to listen to, definitely not the
one.
I am still
very excited for their new album, I love the majority of their discography, so
one song will not ruin things for me. I’ll be reviewing the album once it
drops.
